Being working mothers, Aditi Prasad and Vishwa Dave had significant moments in their parenting journey where their village/support system enabled them to not only be businesswomen and entrepreneurs but also, the best moms that they could be. As a token of gratitude to their support system, they have come up with a campaign — #Ittakesavillage.

It indeed does take a village to raise a child and this is true of every mother and father in their own parenting journey. A ‘village’ can be anyone — from a doting mother, mother-in-law to even mom-squads or nannies. The duo is co-founders of MiniRoo, a brand that gives parents access to the best kids’ brands from across India. “It’s been a year since we launched our brand and we wanted to do something special to mark our first year anniversary. Though we were talking about options, the one idea that we both loved was to come up with a campaign that would bring in a difference in someone’s life. For our own parenting journey, we have received tremendous support from our own little ‘village’ — be it our mother, mother-in-law, nannies, friends and so on. They enabled us not only shine in our careers but also brought out the best in us,” says Vishwa.

They have partnered with baby and maternity photographer, Mommy Shots by Amrita and invited 25 women from different walks of life to bring in their ‘village’ for a special photo-shoot. “These amazing parents have then shared their stories about their parenting journey using images from the shoot to express their gratitude towards the ‘village’ that helps them raise their kids. Any kind of support in your parenting journey is extremely crucial and important,” shares Aditi.

Anyone can participate in the campaign — you just have to take a picture with your ‘village’ with the hashtag #Ittakesavillage and tag @miniroo_in and @mommyshotsbyamrita in your picture.

Designer Heeba Sait, one of the mothers, who came forward to be part of the photoshoot, shares her experience. “I have got my own design label and it is quite crazy because I need all hands on deck. I have two kids — a five-month-old baby and a 4-year-old. Both are in different phases of life. Baby has started crawling and daughter is in the process of going to school. Being a mother is wonderful, but my work is something that I am passionate about and taking a year break didn’t work for me. So, all my family members came in and pitched in to help me. Everyone was supportive of our equal career goals and social life. My mother-in-law, sister-in-law, nanny and driver are my support system. Their little roles took the pressure off me and I returned back to my regular life,” Heeba says.
