    Chennai region likely to receive moderate rain in next 48 hours

    Various parts of Tamil Nadu, including the Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tiruvarur and Tiruvallur, received moderate rainfall on Tuesday.

    The Regional Meteorological Centre took down the heavy rainfall warning, that has been in place for the past few days, on Tuesday. However, Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur and Chennai belt is likely to receive light to moderate rainfall in the next 48 hours. Meanwhile, northern parts and suburbs of the city received light to moderate rainfall. Vepery, Guindy, Porur, Villivakkam and Kolathur received light and moderate rainfall on Tuesday evening.

    The RMC stated that light to moderate rain is likely at isolated places over Tamil Nadu in the next 48 hours. Meanwhile, the sky condition is likely to be generally cloudy with light rain or thundershower in some areas. The temperatures are expected to drop to a maximum of 36 degrees Celsius and minimum temperature is likely to be around 28 degrees Celsius.

    On Tuesday, the maximum temperatures recorded in Nungambakkam was 37.2 degrees Celsius and Meenambakkam recorded 37.1 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperatures recorded were 29.2 degrees Celsius and 27.8 degrees Celsius at Nungambakkam and Meenambakkam respectively.

    Weather blogger Pradeep John stated that the areas which did not get rains during the first spell are likely to receive rains in the upcoming spell in next few days in the city.
