According to some sources, Vijay Makkal Iyakkam --- Vijay's social welfare organisation --- is to be galvanised into a political party by the name 'All India Thalapathy Vijay Makkal Iyakkam.'

Days after actor 'Thalapathy' Vijay's father and veteran director SA Chandrasekhar hinted at Vijay taking a political plunge, the news came out that he has taken the plunge.
Sources said, Vijay has applied to the Election Commission and is soon to register the party. However, people with clout in the film industry quickly refuted such a happening.
According to some, Vijay Makkal Iyakkam --- Vijay's social welfare organisation --- is to be galvanised into a political party by the name 'All India Thalapathy Vijay Makkal Iyakkam.'
The grapevine was Padmanabhan being named the party's chief, SA Chandrasekhar, the General Secretary and Shoba Chandrasekhar, the treasurer.
With elections in the state round the corner, the see-saw reports of the actor's political plunge won't be seen merely as a gimmick, now these developments will get people in the political know talking .
