Fashion Fundas: Transforming Lakshmi Menon for Rekka

In the opening scene, the audience would have seen her in a pretty white top and a lovely pink skirt. Her accessory has been carefully matched with her dress for the look. We had to take the styling in this movie scene by scene. It had to be chic and at the same time believable. When it came to hair styles, we alternated between ponytails and free-style, depending on her outfit. 

For songs, it was a completely different kind of styling. It was a huge challenge. Depending on the location and song type, I decided her outfits. One of her most popular look was the one in red gown. If you observe carefully, she doesn’t sport accessories with it. She wore a stone-embellished gown. It would have directly clashed with her outfit. Small details like this had to kept in mind. Each frame has a different look and feel for Lakshmi.
