Celebs put best foot forward at Virushka’s reception

Power couple Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli’s wedding reception that was held on Tuesday night in Mumbai, was a gala affair with the most popular celebrities from Bollywood and the world of sports in attendance. While Anushka was breath-taking in an ethereal smoky grey lehenga by Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Virat looked dapper in an Indigo velvet navy blue bandhgala and an ivory Jodhpuri trouser from Raghavendra Rathore.

However, it was not just the newlyweds but also the guests who brought out their best sartorial sense. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who walked in with husband Abhishek, was the cynosure of all eyes. The former Miss World picked a white lehenga by Manish Malhotra which she teamed with a sheer dupatta. She looked angelic in the thread lace and pearl embroidered outfit. Soft eyes, long eyelashes, matte red lip and sleek locks finished her look.

It was refreshing to see India’s badminton champ Saina Nehwal opt for a different look. She went for a blush pink and orange-hued anarkali from the house of Neeta Lulla.

Quite a few celebs also opted for the saree. Sridevi looked gorgeous in an electric blue Manish Malhotra sari. Desi girl Priyanka Chorpa was seen in a gold Benarasi weave saree with a green blouse. She accessorised her look with temple jewellery. But it was the trio of Madhuri Dixit, Rekha and Kangana Ranaut, that caught everyone’s attention. The three seemed to share great camaraderie as they posed together for shutterbugs and shared hugs and kisses. Madhuri looked resplendent in a Tarun Tahiliani sheer and emerald green lace sari with gold embellishments on it. She paired it with a polka embellished long sleeve sheer blouse and jhumkas. Rekha was dressed in her trademark Kanjeevaram saree in a shade of pink and yellow. Fashion icon Kangana Ranaut kept it simple yet classy in a Sabyasachi saree. The gold number had the designer’s signature border. She paired it with a low back, full sleeve off-white blouse. A pair of gold earrings and a gold choker necklace complemented her look.

Among the men, Ranbir Kapoor picked a checked suit for the event. He paired his navy suit with a white shirt and a matching necktie. Varun Dhawan picked a three-piece navy-blue suit. The look was styled with a white shirt, pink necktie and a polka dot pocket square. Other high-profile attendees from the sporting world included the likes of Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma, Virender Sehwag, Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar and Zaheer Khan, among many others.

There were several other celebs in attendance like AR Rahman, Aditi Rao Hydari and Katrina Kaif, to name a few.
