Kamal to try quirky, vintage looks for Bigg Boss 3, says stylist Amritha

Thanks to his stylist, Amritha Ram, who has made sure that the actor looked charming in the previous season of the reality show.

“When I signed Bigg Boss 2 I had already signed a two-month US trip with DSP (Devi Sri Prasad). But I had set up everything for the entire season before leaving and used to monitor things from there,” she says.

Amritha vouches that the audience can expect Kamal Haasan in quirky, vintage, swag and classic get-ups. “Kamal sir is someone who can carry off any look with so much swag and charm and has set trends at every point in his career. Right from rock to pop to classic, sir has set innumerable trends over the years. Since he is known for his panache and style, I have to work on his looks very carefully.”

Everyone expected a suited up Kamal in the promo videos but Amritha surprised the team by opting leather jackets and vintage glasses for the host. “Everyone from the team, including the director, loved his look,” says Amritha, who has done styling for films like Vada Chennai.

The celebrity stylist has already planned several looks for Kamal for the upcoming episodes. “I have put across a lot of ideas and he has shortlisted a few and we’ve started working on it. When a person like Kamal sir can pull off a new look, it definitely becomes a style statement. In this season of the show, we are trying to bring back some trends as well.”

It’s not often that a person gets to style Kamal Haasan and Amritha is making the best of the opportunity she bagged. “This time, we will be experimenting with colour palette and textures. You can see Kamal sir in shades of brown and olive green. He is someone who is very specific about his look — from head to toes and accessories. Last time, I got a lot of appreciation for his looks and this time I wanted to make it better and diverse. It’s very important to take fashion in the right way to the audience and if Kamal sir can pull off a look, then it getsmore recognition,” she remarks.
