City designers, models collaborate to put on virtual fashion show
For the first time in south India, a team of three from different sections in the fashion industry have collaborated to host a virtual fashion show.

Chennai
The team included jewellery designer Raji Anand, fashion designer Stephin Lalan and stylist Sunil Karthik. “Many fashion shows have been cancelled or postponed worldwide. I saw a video of how a virtual fashion show was held somewhere in the West. The concept was interesting and decided to give a try. I got in touch with Stephin and Sunil and they were ready to explore the idea of the virtual fashion show. Though we had limited resources, we put together everything and made it happen. The online show was held on Saturday and we have shared the video on social media,” says Raji.
The jewellery designer reached out to 12 city-based models for this collaboration. “When we informed the models about the concept, they were more than happy to be on board. This was more of a creative exercise. Luckily, just before the lockdown, we did a fashion show for Women’s Day. Stephin had come up with a great collection then. We just put everything together including the jewellery I have designed and sent it the models through Dunzo. Stylist Sunil gave the instructions and together, we did the virtual fashion show,” smiles Raji.
