Portal makes planning get-togethers, a breezy experience
Planning a social get-together is no easy task. Be it a wedding, birthday, or even a bachelors’ party for that matter, coordinating everything can be time consuming. Enter, Planezy.com, an online platform that lets customers connect with a range of service providers who can help them conduct an event in style.

Chennai
Logeshkumar RC (28), a former student of NIT Tiruchy and Great Lakes, teamed up with his college friends – Ravi V, Rushant V and Sowmya M to form the core members of the company that has been christened Planezy.com. Says Logeshkumar, “When someone plans a party or an event, what they usually do is ask friends and family about service providers, like a decorator or a caterer or even a candid photographer. They start bookings based on suggestions they get. They tend to rely on online search engines and often do not get the desired or even satisfactory results. There’s also the issue of finding these service providers unavailable on the dates you need them.”
Logeshkumar, who quit a secure bank job to start this venture and was supported by his friends, and his mother, who made the first investment, explains, “We intend to solve the pain of ideating. We help clients to sail through the process of searching and hiring services. The service is completely free for users – we work on both subscription and commission both paid by the vendors. Reliable reviews from users on the quality of service are also made public. We showcase past works done by our vendors using photos and videos. We also display the costs quoted by the vendors and their contact information for users to directly call them up.”
A Nasscom 10K start-up, Planezy.com began its operations in June 2016. They are now tied-up with around 1,500 service providers listed across seven cities in India.
He adds, “In the first week of September alone, our services were employed for organising five different events, whose costs would have ranged from 50,000 to Rs 10 lakh. It’s a tough space but we are hopeful that we will sail through it.” “The market size is about $100 billion with wedding alone making up for 40% of it. By 2017 we intend to have on board as many as 10,000 service providers from all over India,” he sums up.
