Showtime with stories
Srividya Veeraraghavan, the founder of Story Train, will be organising two storytelling camps for children this summer. The first camp that starts on April 16 is for children between the age group of 7 and 12 and the second camp from April 30 to May 5 focuses on children between 5 and 10. “The first session will focus on the topic — how to present a story effectively? I’ll be teaching them voice modulation, acting and presentation. At the end of the workshop, the child would be much more confident in developing and presenting a story,” says Srividya. During the second session, children will be introduced to the world of public speaking.

It’s indeed a summer carnival
Wandering tree summer carnival is a funpacked programme for children aged between 5 and 12 years. The carnival is aimed at bringing out the cultural and creative side of children with a unique combination of art, craft, theatre and science. There will be classes in creative ad writing, modular origami, clay modelling, theatre and pottery. The organisers have included two interesting camps on aeromodelling and avionics. Akshaya of Wandering Artist says, “We wanted to include different and innovative programmes for our summer carnival. That’s why we came up with two offbeat topics apart from art and craft. Vaayusastra, a startup recognised by central government ministry of science and technology will coach the children on aeromodelling and avionics. They will be taught the basics of aerodynamics and we can assure that this would be an interesting platform for children.” The summer classes will begin from May 7 to 18.
