With summer comes melting makeup and smeared eyeliner. It is important to give proper hydration and relaxation to your skin to be easy as the temperature soars up. Citybased professional celebrity makeup artist Noor Ahmed shares a few hacks to sweat-proof your look.

PROCURE A PRIMER
A primer can be a life saviour during the summer. Apart from helping you cover up wrinkles, fine lines and smoothing your skin, they provide a good amount of moisture, boosts the longevity of your foundation and glue up your makeup.
USE CRISS-CROSS STROKES
When it comes to applying foundation to your face, try moving the sponge/ brush in a criss-cross motion until you have coated your face with a thin layer. This helps avoid patchy melts caused usually when you go in for straight stokes. Noor Ahmed, recommends tinted concealers rather than liquid foundation.
USE WATERPROOF MAKEUP PRODUCTS
Tailor your beauty routine by adding waterproof mascara, kajal and eyeliner to your kit. Using these products will help you avoid smudging, smearing and a black eye.
AVOID EYELID CREASE
When the powdery finish of your eyeshadow meets oil and sweat, it ends up in makeup melts or creases on your eyelids. To avoid such disasters, apply a dab of primer or smear some foundation on your eyelid before venturing into your eye makeup.
COLOUR PALETTE
Pastels or candy-hued and loud colours are popular summer choices. For a chirpy and peppy look, shades of purple, peach and aqua are recommended as they are soothing to the eye.
Apart from the abovementioned hacks, Noor Ahmed adds, “Most importantly, keep yourself hydrated. Cleanse your face to avoid pigmentation, heat acne and to remove dead cells. Carry translucent blotting powder when you are out and dab when necessary. Matte nude lip shades suit everyone and is highly recommended.”
