Woman auto driver trending on Twitter
A woman from Mumbai happened to meet a woman autorickshaw driver after her cab broke down near Powai in Mumbai, well after midnight. Though it is not unusual to spot women autorickshaw drivers in Mumbai, film-maker Vijayeta’s tweet about the woman who took her home safely went viral. This only shows how much people wish to see and celebrate women in public spaces, comfortable in their own skin. “My cab broke down near Powai, past midnight. Stopped an auto and was wonderfully surprised to see a woman driver. She dropped me home, we chatted and it felt so good to live in a city where women do feel safe enough to be out at all hours. Really hope it stays that way!” read her tweet.
Namaz is better than yoga, Kaif trolled
Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif, like all other celebrities, posted a photo on the micro-blogging site Twitter of him performing Supta Vajrasana. He also talked about the advantages to our body and mind from yoga and expressed his love for it. “Yoga doesn’t just make the body flexible, but also our mind and emotions. Truly Love yoga ! #InternationalYogaDay2018,” he wrote. Soon, many Muslims displeased with the cricketer performing yoga tried to school him on rather offering Namaz five times a day so that he would not require yoga. “May be you are right but there is no exercise better than Namaz,” tweeted a user.
Man collects flight leftover to feed the needy
Vishab Mehta, in his Facebook post narrated how he collected leftover from a Mumbai-Jaipur flight to feed the poor. He had requested the crew for a bag so he could collect the leftover himself. But the crew helped as well. Mehta collected 70 burger buns, 50 burger pockets and 30 chocolates in his bag by the time they were done. He circulated the food he collected among children and grown-ups who can’t even afford a meal a day. He wrote,“I’ve been a frequent flyer all my life. I love to travel, be it for business or vacation. But unfortunately only a couple of months back I realised and I noticed that, meals served on the flights are often wasted and thrown away in the garbage.”
