Chennai: Two killed in accident while shooting reels on bikes
According to police, Abdul Ahamed (17) of Zamin Pallavaram and his friend Suhail Ahamed (17) were riding to the Pallavaram weekly market road on a KTM bike belonging to Abdul’s brother.

CHENNAI: Attempts to shoot a reel video turned fatal for a 17-year-old boy, who was riding pillion at the time, and a 23-year-old passenger on another bike when their vehicles collided head-on in Pallavaram on Monday night. The accident also left three others injured.
According to police, Abdul Ahamed (17) of Zamin Pallavaram and his friend Suhail Ahamed (17) were riding to the Pallavaram weekly market road on a KTM bike belonging to Abdul’s brother. While the duo was recording videos for reels on their speeding bike, it collided head-on with another two-wheeler coming from the opposite direction carrying three youngsters.
Suhail who was riding pillion suffered severe head injuries and died on the spot, while Abdul and the three persons on the other motorcycle sustained injuries.
The three persons – Mukarji (23), Hankeeth Raju (23) of West Bengal, and Orin Arun Sharma (23) of New Delhi – had been working as chefs at a private star hotel near the Chennai airport and were returning to Zamin Pallavaram when they met with the accident.
The Chromepet traffic investigation police sent Suhail’s body to Chromepet GH for a post-mortem and shifted the injured to Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital. However, Arun failed to respond to medical treatment and died on Tuesday morning.
The police have registered a case and are investigating further.
