Local League: Vignesh scores maiden ton to put Pistons in control
Opener GV Vignesh scored his first century of the season to put India Pistons in a position of strength at 258 for two at the end of day one against Vijay CC in the TNCA First Division League match here on Tuesday.

Vignesh’s knock of 133 contained 17 fours and three sixes and he was involved in a huge 201-run stand with Akshay V Srinivasan 85 batting (227b, 6x4) for the second wicket.
Elsewhere, Andhra captain G Hanuma Vihari scored 103 (149b, 11x4, 1x6) as Young Stars reached 305 for nine against Globe Trotters SC. Vihari received good support from S Swaminathan 55 (107b, 6x4) as the duo added 134 runs for the fourth wicket.- Trotters’ pacer Sunil Sam reaped reward for his toil taking five wickets for 91.
Meanwhile, after pulling off a stunning win over Young Stars in its last match, Nelson continued in the same vein against Grand Slam as it ended the first day’s play at 210 for one. Batsmen S Karthik 84 batting (249b, 11x4) and Robin Bist 88 batting (203b, 8x4, 2x6) have added an unbroken 140 runs for the second wicket.
