CFC ‘B’ loses to Ozone

This was its first loss in the 2nd Division League this season, after draws in its opening two games. Joysana Singh’s first half goal for CFC ‘B’ was overturned by Ozone with two goals in the last quarter of the match. Debutant BY Revanth came into the CFC goal for the suspended Sayak Barai. Full backs Joseph Lalsanglura and Charles Britto replaced Surya Tirkey and the injured Bibin Boban, as Ajin Tom started in midfield.

Fifth seed Sai Diya Balaji defeated Gayatri Rajesh from Kerala 6-2 1-6 6-4 in the Sreshta Super Series Tournament Girls U-16 pre-quarterfinals. Gayatri fought back in the second set, but it was Sai who pulled up her socks to win the decider.

Tamil Nadu women’s team completed a three-wicket win over Chhattisgarh in a low-scoring BCCI Under-23 T20 match at the Gokulbhai Somabhai Patel Stadium in Gujarat. Skipper S Anusha (3/16) and MS Aishwarya (3/5) took three wickets as TN reduced Chhattisgarh to 62 in 16.4 overs. TN lost seven wickets in the second innings, but somehow crossed the finish line in 18.3 overs. Manpreet Kaur (2/10) got two scalps for Chhattisgarh.
