Defending champions Chennai Super Kings restricted Royal Challengers Bangalore to a very low score of 70 runs

This was the second lowest total for RCB in IPL after 49 against Kolkata Knight Riders.

CSK skipper Mahendra Singh won the toss and opted to bowl against Kohli's RCB.

Unable to cope up with spinners Harbhajan Singh, Imran Tahir and Ravindra Jadeja on a slow turning wicket, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) were bowled out for a meagre total.

The dismissal of RCB skipper, who opened the innings, early triggered a collapse, as the much vaunted line up collapsed like a pack of cards.

After a slow start, the exit of Kohli, who opened the innings and pulled a nearly short delivery off Harbhajan to Jadeja at midwicket to lose his wicket, the procession started as RCB lost wickets at regular intervals.

Opening the bowling, Harbhajan who bowled his quota of four overs on a trot, started the slide and picked up the first three wickets, including that of big hitter De Villiers, and was later joined by other spinners Jadeja and Imran Tahir, who tormented the RCB batsmen with subtle variations.

The RCB just could not cope up with the slow turner and paid penalty by playing too early, as the ball did not come to the bat as expected.

The spinners exploited the conditions to hilt to force the RCB batsmen into submission.
