TN Assembly polls: DMK defers general council meeting, state conference
DMK has deferred the March 7 general council and March 14 state conference because of the upcoming Assembly elections.

DMK general secretary Duraimurugan on Friday made an announcement, postponing the meetings indefinitely. Meanwhile, DMK on Thursday held its first round of talks with ally Congress.
The principal opposition party also constituted a committee headed by its treasurer TR Baalu to hold seat sharing talks with alliance parties. The committee compromises principal secretary KN Nehru, deputy general secretaries Subbulakshmi Jagadeehsan, I Periyasamy, K Ponmudi, organising secretary RS Bharathi and district secretary EV Velu.
