The editor-in-chief of a TV news channel was arrested by Maharashtra police in connection with a 2018 case concerning suicide abetment.
The journalist claimed Raigad police assaulted him during the arrest. Photos depicting the assault have gone viral.
Alt News found the pictures actually depict an incident from UP’s Deoria district in January.
It shows three policemen assaulting a man inside a police station, following which the cops were suspended.
